The PSOE of Leganés has condemned the local government's management of the indefinite strike by directly managed nursery schools, accusing the local administration of deliberately undermining the teaching staff's right to strike.

According to the socialists, the City Council's refusal to establish minimum services is not an administrative error but a deliberate political strategy to hinder the legitimate right to strike for educators.
The Department of Human Resources has argued that the strike is “illegal” because it was not directly communicated to the Consistory. However, the PSOE supports union complaints, stating that it is a regional call applicable to all municipalities in the Community of Madrid, thus not requiring individualized communication.

"We are facing an unprecedented attack on public education and the rights of workers in our municipality. The PP mayor has decided to hide behind false legal technicalities to conceal his inability to manage an essential service. He cannot claim that everything is being complied with in Leganés when the ratios themselves, fundamental for the safety and learning of our children, are being ignored."

The PSOE of Leganés emphasizes that the situation of nursery schools in the city is “critical,” indicating that, despite the municipal government's justifications, student-to-classroom ratios are not being met. This is one of the key demands from teaching staff to ensure quality education for children aged 0 to 3.
The socialists accuse the mayor of employing a “clear strategy to intimidate” the workers, “generating uncertainty and disorganization in the centers by not even having forwarded the instructions from the Community of Madrid to the management teams.”

"It is a shame that, while other city councils facilitate dialogue and minimum services, here the mayor dedicates himself to persecuting and frightening teachers. I demand that he face the situation, stop boycotting a constitutional right, and start working for the families of Leganés. His management is the real ‘chaos’ that is sinking our nursery schools."
