The citizen platform 'Metro a Parla ya' has garnered support from prominent personalities in Parla, such as Ramoncín and Juan José Ballesta, to intensify the demand for the extension of the Metrosur line to the municipality, a connection deemed urgent for improving local mobility.
The municipality of Parla has enlisted its most famous citizens to reignite the call for the arrival of Metrosur to the town. This initiative, driven by the 'Plataforma Metro a Parla ya', aims to amplify the message about the pressing need for the southern Madrid metro line to extend to this important urban center.
For years, the collective has pointed out that Parla is the only municipality in the southern area with over 100,000 inhabitants that still lacks a direct connection to Metrosur. This situation exacerbates the congestion of the Cercanías service and the lack of regional investment in road infrastructure over the past two decades.

"To improve the lives of students and workers, yes to the Metro to Parla now, but now. The obligation of societies is to give citizens what they need because, moreover, they have earned it."
Various figures from the artistic and musical fields have joined the cause. Renowned musician Ramoncín has expressed his support on social media, while the rock band 'Los cuatro pelagatos' and Dj Andrés have also shown their backing for the initiative, highlighting the needs of Parla's citizens.
The legendary Tenneesse, who grew up in Parla, have collaborated in the campaign, urging competent authorities to act swiftly. Actress Lucía Bravo, a lifelong resident of the municipality, has emphasized that the people of Parla “deserve” this infrastructure.

"The A-42 suffers from many traffic jams and Renfe is full, we are all crammed in. I can only say that Metro to Parla now."
Actor Juan José Ballesta, known for his role in the film El Bola, has stressed the urgency of the infrastructure, mentioning the constant traffic jams on the A-42 and the saturation of Renfe. Siblings Luna and Rubén Fulgencio have added that the metro is “increasingly necessary” due to the rise in traffic queues at the city's entrances and the difficulty of traveling on the Toledo road.
