The city of Móstoles today begins the program for its May 2nd Festivities, declared of National Tourist Interest, with a day full of cultural, traditional, and leisure activities for all ages.

One of the main attractions of these celebrations is the Goyaesque Market, which opens today and will remain active until May 3rd. Over 140 craft and gastronomy stalls are set up in the vicinity of Plaza del Pradillo, Antonio Hernández Street, and Plaza de la Cultura, where more than 20 daily activities will also take place. The market hours are from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM, extending until 1:00 AM on the eve of the holiday.
The afternoon program includes the Goyaesque Parade of Giants and Big-Heads, which will start at 7:30 PM from Órganos Street. The route will continue along Antonio Hernández Street, Cristo Street, Cuatro Caminos roundabout, and Dos de Mayo Avenue, ending in Plaza de España. A “Blue Section” without sound will be available at the Cuatro Caminos roundabout for people with sensory diversity.

The day will continue with musical performances on the Liana Carpas stage, where the Azabache Orchestra will offer a concert from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM with a repertoire covering various musical styles.

At 8:30 PM, Plaza de España will host the opening speech and the traditional chupinazo from the City Hall balcony. The honorary president of Civil Protection Móstoles will be in charge of officially starting the festivities. Later, at 11:00 PM, a fireworks display by Pirotecnia Igual will take place, launched from the esplanade of CEIP Juan de Ocaña, in front of the Andrés Torrejón sports center. The orchestra will resume its performance at 11:30 PM.
Additionally, starting today, five Goyaesque meninas can be visited at various points in the city, such as Plaza del Pradillo, Constitución Avenue, Plaza de España, Portugal Avenue at the corner of Goya Street, and Finca Liana Park, in front of the Teatro del Bosque. These figures will be on display until May 30th. Attendees can participate in a photo contest by taking a picture with them, posting it on Instagram with the hashtag #meninasmostoles, and following the City Council's account. The ten images with the most “likes” will be awarded a mini-Goyaesque menina.
