The political party Más Madrid Leganés has undertaken a “citizen outreach” initiative through an active listening day in the municipality. A Government minister participated in this activity, who, alongside local party leaders, walked the city streets to gather first-hand the demands and needs of residents.
According to sources from Más Madrid Leganés, the day resulted in “great figures for the local organization.” Out of a total of 334 doors visited, 136 residents opened their homes to speak with the team, representing a 41% opening rate. This figure is considered “much higher than the average for this type of political communication action.”
“"We are here to bring politics back to the streets."
“"That 41% of people who opened their doors to us in Leganés shows us that our city wants to be heard."
The main problems identified by citizens during the day included difficulty accessing housing, the state of public healthcare, and the need to improve transport. The party has indicated that these concerns are not just complaints but constitute their “roadmap for building the Leganés to come.”
This action is part of a broader strategy by the party, which includes tours of various municipalities and neighborhoods to “connect the problems of each doorstep with the solutions advocated in institutions.” The data collected by the local team will be crucial for developing future initiatives and Más Madrid's political program for Leganés.
