The Mayor of Madrid has responded to the allegations presented by Getafe City Council against the Mad Cool festival's license. He emphasized that the official measurements related to the event are carried out by the Madrid council, not by Getafe's.
“"Before resorting to confrontation for confrontation's sake, I would tell the mayor of Getafe to sit down with the Mad Cool organizers, who can tell her about all the improvements introduced."
Furthermore, the Mayor suggested that the Getafe mayor contact the Government Delegate to learn about the agreements reached with the festival organizers, expressing his confidence that an understanding can be reached.
Getafe City Council has filed allegations citing an «unbearable impact» on the municipality due to noise and demanding mobility and acoustic guarantees. However, the Delegate for Urban Planning, Environment, and Mobility has assured that Mad Cool will take place in Madrid, as it has all the necessary reports and guarantees for its development.
“"I warn the mayor of Getafe, as has happened in previous years, where she has tried to boycott an event as important as Mad Cool – important from a cultural, tourist, and economic point of view for the city of Madrid – that Mad Cool will not be stopped."
The Delegate highlighted the festival's importance as a world-renowned event and a cultural epicenter for the city of Madrid, ensuring it will proceed under the best conditions, especially regarding safety for all attendees.
