The Getafe City Council has officially welcomed the new Commissioner of the National Police, Manuel Palma, following his appointment during the summer. The institutional meeting, led by Mayoress Sara Hernández, served to establish the foundations for joint operational planning for the coming months.
The main objective is to consolidate the alliance between the Council and the Police Station to align resources and respond agilely, preventively, and in a coordinated manner to security challenges throughout the municipal area, aiming to multiply the efficiency of on-the-ground actions.
In parallel, the Getafe City Council has reaffirmed its commitment to continue strengthening its own resources. This includes increasing the Local Police force, expanding the video surveillance network with security cameras in key access points and areas, and developing specific prevention campaigns.
Regarding crime data from the first half of the year, it is highlighted that the trend in Getafe is similar to that of other large municipalities. The reinforcement of efficiency and collaboration between both institutions aims to reverse this generalized trend.
