Following the decision not to hold the ‘Madrilucía’ exhibition at the Iberdrola Music venue, the city of Fuenlabrada has taken the initiative to organize its own April Fair. This event, coordinated by the Fuenlabrada City Council and the Casa Regional Andaluza, will transform the Plaza de España into an Andalusian corner throughout the weekend, from Friday, April 17, to Sunday, April 19.
Attendees will be able to immerse themselves in Andalusian culture with traditional lanterns, rociero choirs, sevillanas dances, and displays of faralaes dresses. The program includes a variety of free performances and shows, such as flamenco dances, sevillanas, a masterclass, and flamenco dress contests, as reported by the City Council in a statement.
“"We want the spirit of the Sevillian April Fair to be brought to our city next weekend so that all residents and fans of this celebration can enjoy listening to music, dancing, and sharing this program, which we have no doubt attendees will like."
Activities will begin on Friday, April 17, at 8:00 PM. On Saturday, April 18, the fair will be open from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while on Sunday, April 19, the schedule will be from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The cultural agenda includes performances by choirs such as Dos Colores, Alma Rociera, and Son de las Marismas from the Casa Regional Andaluza de Fuenlabrada, as well as shows by groups like Manguara, Media Luna, and Raya Real. There will also be exhibitions by the dance schools of Mario Bueno and Noemí Alcázar, and a parade for the flamenco dress contest.
