The event occurred in the early hours of Saturday, April 11, when assailants forced their way into the premises. According to close sources, the thieves broke the front glass panel to gain access, making off with the cash register and cash, in addition to causing various material damages to the bakery's furnishings.
This incident is not isolated for El Paisa, which had already experienced an attempted robbery a week prior, thwarted by the alarm system. The bakery, which opened its doors in Alcorcón last February, thus joins a growing list of businesses affected by crime in the area.
How sad this situation is, and it has happened twice. I believe it can continue to happen.
The situation has forced the owners to install a temporary wall on the facade to repair the damage. This robbery is part of a series of similar incidents that have affected several establishments in Alcorcón during March and April, despite the City Council having repeatedly stated an increase in security measures in the locality.
