The project, backed by an investment of 12.9 million euros and a 24-month execution period, will span nearly 39,000 square meters, with provisions for future expansion. The aim is to revitalize the historic site with a modern concept.
A major draw will be the outdoor bathing area, featuring three outdoor pools, including a wave pool reminiscent of the old Solagua. These will be surrounded by an extensive sunbathing area and over 14,500 square meters of green spaces for relaxation and family enjoyment.
To ensure year-round usability, the complex will also include two indoor pools. The main building, spanning approximately 7,000 square meters, will house a comprehensive gym, spa, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, changing rooms, and two rooms for group activities, plus a dedicated spinning studio.
Complementing the sports facilities, a separate 1,000 square meter building will be dedicated to dining and hospitality. The complex will also offer a parking area with 145 spaces and new access points, including a nearby bus stop to enhance user accessibility.
In terms of sustainability, the complex will incorporate a photovoltaic solar panel installation with a capacity exceeding 50,000 watts, underscoring the municipality's commitment to energy efficiency in public facilities.
The City Council has designated space for future expansions, ensuring the complex can adapt to the city's growth. Mayor Miguel Ángel Recuenco stated the project addresses current needs, while First Deputy Mayor Carlos Delgado highlighted its potential as a "climate refuge" for residents and visitors during hot months.
