The works, which lasted for a month, affected the service between the Embajadores and Villaverde Alto stations. These actions are part of the project to increase the capacity of the Sol tunnel and improve the reliability of this significant railway infrastructure.
Construction began on July 17, but the most significant disruptions occurred from the 23rd of that month, interrupting service until last Sunday, August 16. During this period, thousands of Alcorcón residents had to find alternative routes to travel to the capital.
With the full reopening of the line starting this Monday, the C-5 once again connects Humanes with Móstoles and Alcorcón without issues. The complete interruption between Villaverde Alto and Embajadores necessitated the establishment of shuttle trains to Méndez Álvaro with a frequency of 35 minutes, making intermediate stops at Puente Alcocer, Orcasitas, and Doce de Octubre.
