The mayor of Aranjuez, Miguel Gómez Herrero, accompanied by the Delegate for Institutional Relations, Mercedes Rico, traveled to Le Pecq-sur-Seine (France) on September 17. There, he held the first institutional meeting with the newly appointed mayor of the French town, Anne-Laure de Brosses.
The visit coincides with the trip of 17 residents from Aranjuez, members of the Association of Friends of Le Pecq. The meeting has been strategically scheduled to strengthen institutional ties and continue the twinning that both cities have shared for almost five decades.
This encounter will also serve to explore new avenues for collaboration and exchange between the municipal teams, associations, and residents of both localities, deepening the existing relationship.
The twinning between Aranjuez and Le Pecq dates back to 1978 and has led to numerous institutional, neighborhood, educational, sports, and cultural exchanges over the years. The work of the friends' associations in both cities has been crucial in keeping this relationship alive, promoting mutual understanding and the dissemination of their respective cultures and traditions.
In the official invitation, the mayor of Le Pecq expressed her satisfaction with this first meeting and her firm commitment to continue strengthening a relationship built on friendship, trust, and shared commitment.
Through this trip, the Aranjuez City Council reaffirms its commitment to twinning as a key tool for strengthening ties and fostering exchange between its citizens, associations, and institutions, continuing a relationship of 48 years.
