Rally in support of the nursery school strike in Alcorcón

A rally has been called in Alcorcón for this Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Town Hall Square, in support of the indefinite strike by 0-3 year old nursery schools in the Community of Madrid, seeking better working and salary conditions for staff.

The strike, which began last Tuesday, April 7, was called by the Nursery School Labor Platform and is supported by unions such as CGT. Following discussions with Alcorcón's Department of Education, the local executive has decided to back the mobilization.

We will achieve it. No one beats us in patience.

Organizers have urged attendees to wear yellow t-shirts for the rally, which will be held under the slogan “to continue raising our voice and fighting for a free 0-3.”
The main demands of the educators, addressed to the Ministry of Education, the Community of Madrid's Department of Education, and the City Council of the capital, include a reduction in student-to-educator ratios: three babies under one year old, five children aged one to two years, and six for those aged two to three years. They also request a work calendar comparable to other educational stages, including the month of July, five non-teaching hours per week for pedagogical and bureaucratic tasks, and guaranteed dignified salaries and an improvement in their professional category.
