Alcorcón is advancing its municipal nursery school air conditioning plan with the intervention at the Nanas Nursery School. The works, which have already started, aim to install an aerothermal system to ensure year-round heating, cooling, and domestic hot water. The total investment amounts to €85,806.06, covering supply, installation, and legalization.
This new air-to-water aerothermal system, including five units for air conditioning and two for domestic hot water, replaces the boiler that broke down in February and addresses the lack of summer cooling. The existing underfloor heating will be utilized for efficient distribution. The City Council estimates that the measure will reduce energy consumption, decrease gas usage, and lower polluting emissions, benefiting both student comfort and staff working conditions.
The Nanas Nursery School serves 138 children aged zero to three. With this project, five municipal nursery schools now have air conditioning or are undergoing works. The Gloria Fuertes, Andersen, Campanilla, and Las Flores centers already have these systems. Works are underway at Nanas and Sueños, with Mago de Oz expected to be the last to join the plan before the end of the term.
The Councilor for Education, Trinidad Castillo, has defended the municipal government's objective to equip all nursery schools with air conditioning before the end of the legislative period, ensuring better well-being conditions for students and professionals.
