The city of Alcorcón is preparing for its 2026 Health Week, an event scheduled from April 14 to 21, offering more than 50 activities designed to promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of its residents.
The program, unveiled on Wednesday, is part of the World Health Day celebration and involves over 30 local entities and associations. The goal is to highlight the importance of a livable and healthy city for the well-being of its citizens.
“
"From the municipal government, we work on health promotion from every point of view and 365 days a year, but during this week we focus, in a multidisciplinary and highly participatory way with the involvement of more than 30 health entities and associations, on the need for a livable city that implies promoting a healthy city for the well-being of the citizenry: we must take care of our health and promote it from the public sphere."
The main pillars of the program include prevention, physical health, emotional well-being, sexual health, and community health. Workshops, informative talks, open days, outdoor activities, and intergenerational gatherings have been organized for all ages.
Among the notable activities, the Network of Health Entities will carry out various community initiatives on Wednesday, April 15, including a meeting at Plaza Reyes de España from 09:30 to 13:30. There will also be a CPR demonstration by Civil Protection and a gardening workshop organized by the Department of Parks and Gardens.
Another significant proposal is the “Health Passport,” which will allow residents to learn about the municipality's health associations. Additionally, the ‘Together We Make Health’ march will start from outside the Los Cantos Sports Center, marking a key event in the program.
“
"We invite all citizens to join these proposals that seek to highlight the network collaboration between the administration, health resources, and the associative fabric of our city. With this program, Alcorcón reaffirms its commitment to public well-being and invites citizens to be active protagonists of this week, turning health into a space for encounter and collective participation."
