The Local Government Board ratified this budget increase, aimed at strengthening both grassroots sports and the participation of organizations in official non-professional competitions. Of the total amount, 600,000 euros are reserved for grassroots sports, while 70,000 euros are allocated to elite teams to cover costs associated with their competitive activity.
A key novelty in this edition is the creation of a specific 30,000 euro line for direct scholarships for female athletes. Through this measure, the local government seeks to promote equality and competitive development for women across various sports disciplines.
Municipal estimates suggest that this initiative could benefit over 40 sports entities and reach approximately 17,000 athletes. The local government highlighted that this investment represents a 53% increase in aid to the sector during the current term, continuing a growth trend that began in 2021.
“"Once again, our commitment to sports and support for sports organizations is demonstrated through actions and effective initiatives: we are allocating 670,000 euros in grants for our athletes."
