The Plaza de Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares will be the epicenter this Sunday, September 27, of the II Solidarity Ham Cutting Event. The day, organized by the association Dale Caña al ELA with the support of the Alcalá City Council and various entities and individuals, has the main objective of raising funds for the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
The event will feature the participation of professional ham cutters and will be enlivened with music. A solidarity plate will be offered, accompanied by sangria, wine, or water, while supplies last. Ticket sales will begin at 11:30 AM in the designated tents, and the event will kick off at 12:00 PM.
Councilor Antonio Saldaña highlighted the importance of these initiatives: “Events like the one we are celebrating today have a value that goes far beyond the activity itself. Because every participation, every collaboration, and every contribution helps to keep alive a cause that needs visibility and the commitment of all society.” He added that the City Council considers it fundamental to support these solidarity actions.
The official presentation of the event took place in the Capuchino Auditorium, with the presence of councilors Lola López and Antonio Saldaña. Numerous companies and individuals from Alcalá de Henares and other municipalities are collaborating with donations of hams and other services.
