885 Capital Takes Control of CD Leganés

The investment group 885 Capital has finalized the acquisition of CD Leganés, becoming the majority shareholder with 99.1% of the shares. Eduardo Cosín assumes the presidency with a commitment to "work, enthusiasm, and respect for the club".

The international investment group specializing in sports and technology, 885 Capital, is the new owner of CD Leganés after formalizing the acquisition of 84.24% of the club's share capital on Monday, June 1st. This stake was previously held by Blue Crow Sports Group. Combined with the 14.86% already owned, 885 Capital now controls 99.1% of the club's shares, consolidating its position as the majority shareholder.
The entry of this investment group is described as a firm commitment to the club's growth and consolidation. Their representatives state that the new ownership will focus on enhancing sporting performance, strengthening the bond with members and fans, continuing to improve infrastructure, and preserving the identity, history, and values of the club as it approaches its centenary.
885 Capital has appointed Eduardo Cosín as the new president. Previously, he served as the executive vice-president. A law and business administration graduate with extensive experience in managing business and sports projects, he joined the club in October 2022.

The new president openly admitted that "this season has been a failure" and indicated that mistakes will be corrected to build a club that the fans can be proud of. As a gesture, he announced that the price of season tickets will be largely frozen for the upcoming season.
On the sporting front, the continuity of Dani Rodríguez was confirmed. It was also announced that Martín Mantovani will take on a more significant role within the board, working alongside Martín Ortega and other long-serving employees who deeply understand the club.
Regarding Carlos Martínez's role in the team's survival and his future with the club, Cosín highlighted his incredible value and stated that "Carlos has a guaranteed position in the club" if he wishes to continue with them.
