Organized by the Aranjuez City Council and the Community of Madrid, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and other entities, the festival solidifies the city as a benchmark for ancient music.
For over a month, Aranjuez will be a meeting point for performers, specialists, and the public, combining artistic excellence, heritage recovery, musicological research, and dissemination. The Royal Palace and historic gardens will serve as the backdrop for the program.
The 2026 edition will feature two national premieres: the recovery of the Trisonata del viajero by English musicologist and composer Charles Burney, coinciding with the 300th anniversary of his birth, and the commemoration of the bicentenary of Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga.
Prominent figures in historical performance such as Richard Egarr, Lina Tur Bonet, Fahmi Alqhai, La Ritirata, the Baroque Orchestra of Seville, and Mariví Blasco, among others, will participate.
One of the major events will be the performance by British conductor Richard Egarr leading Hippocampus, a Spanish ensemble led by Alberto Martínez Molina, with a program dedicated to the Concerti Grossi by Corelli and Haendel.
The festival will also offer parallel activities to deepen the relationship between music and the heritage of Aranjuez.
