The municipality of Valdeolmos-Alalpardo is proud of the achievement of its resident, cyclist José Luis Medranda, who wore the municipal crest on his jersey during the prestigious UCI Gran Fondo World Championship 2026, held in the Japanese city of Niseko.
Medranda, competing in the Men's Master 60-64 years category on a demanding 76.2-kilometer mountainous circuit, crossed the finish line in 50th position. Wearing bib number 2036, he completed the race in 2 hours, 31 minutes, and 26 seconds, demonstrating his high sporting level against amateur cyclists from 65 countries.
The cyclist proudly carried the name of Alalpardo on his official kit, which was sponsored by the City Council, reaffirming his sporting commitment on a world stage.
José Luis Medranda's next challenge will be the Granfondo European Championship, which will take place in Varese, Italy, on October 4th.
