The initiative aims to bring citizens closer to the process of waste classification and treatment, reinforcing recycling as a daily habit. The program includes a visit to the Toledo Ecopark on Thursday, October 29th, where participants will learn about its operation and the importance of urban waste management, including selection and biological treatment plants. The correct separation at source and proper use of containers will be explained. Registrations are available at https://www.aranjuezrecicla.org/.
The Recycling Roulette will be set up at the Rastro market on November 14th and 28th on Calle Valeras. An information stand will offer a dynamic and participatory activity where attendees can receive information, answer questions, and win small prizes if they guess correctly. The Recycling Bingo will also be held, a fun event for seniors in municipal day centers to work on waste separation messages in a familiar and entertaining way.
The talk ‘Aranjuez separates, every waste counts’ will take place on Thursday, November 12th at 5:00 PM in Room 17 of the C.C. Isabel de Farnesio. This session will detail the journey of waste from homes to its treatment, with a focus on depositing light packaging in the yellow bin and paper and cardboard in the blue bin.
Through this program, the Aranjuez City Council and Ecoembes aim to resolve doubts and encourage citizen participation to improve waste separation in the municipality. It is recalled that caring for the environment, including the gardens, streets, and riverbanks of Aranjuez, a World Cultural Heritage site, is a collective task supported by the correct separation of each waste item.
All information about the campaign will be available on the Aranjuez Recicla website.
