Recycling Plant Fire in Torrejón de Velasco Under Control

Twelve fire brigades from the Community of Madrid worked to extinguish the flames affecting two scrap metal piles.

A fire at a recycling plant in Torrejón de Velasco, located at kilometer 31 of the M-404, mobilized twelve fire brigades from the Community of Madrid, who successfully brought the flames under control with no injuries.

The blaze, which broke out this Saturday, impacted two large piles of processed scrap metal, each estimated at 1,500 cubic meters. The swift action of the firefighting teams was critical in preventing the flames from spreading to other parts of the facility.
The alert for the incident was received at 6:15 AM, enabling an early response. In addition to firefighters, medical personnel from SUMMA were dispatched to the scene as a precaution, though fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
