The Sevilla la Nueva City Council has held a Local Security Board to coordinate the upcoming Patron Saint Festivities and analyze citizen security, which shows a 9.6% reduction in criminal offenses in the first half of 2026.

The Local Security Board of Sevilla la Nueva has finalized the details of the special operation planned for the September Patron Saint Festivities, to be held on September 11, 12, 18, and 19. The meeting, chaired by the first deputy mayor, Carmen Chueca, included representatives from the City Council, Civil Guard, Government Delegation, and the Community of Madrid, among others.
The security deployment will include eleven private security guards and five security dogs in the Plaza de los Arcos, in addition to personnel from the Local Police, Civil Guard, and Civil Protection. The latter will have an ambulance, a medical tent, and between 10 and 12 volunteers during the busiest days.
The installation of 14 video surveillance cameras and authorization for the fireworks on September 11 were confirmed. The Board also analyzed security data for the first half of 2026, which shows a 9.6% reduction in criminal offenses and a decrease in home burglaries (from seven to five).
Cybercrime accounts for half of the registered offenses. The municipality's crime rate stands at 36.6 offenses per 1,000 inhabitants, significantly below the average for the Community of Madrid (55.2).
The Government Delegation praised the low crime rate and the work of the security forces. The Local Police highlighted the positive reception of the Safe Holidays program. The City Council will continue to coordinate efforts to maintain security and ensure the smooth running of the festivities.
