The project, with a budget of 619,266 euros (VAT included) and a 24-month execution period, will analyze the rail connection between Móstoles and Navalcarnero. The study will also evaluate the compatibility of this infrastructure with other potential network expansions in the southwest area of the Community of Madrid.
The analysis will examine mobility from surrounding towns to future stations, aiming to design a public transport scheme that extends benefits to municipalities such as Cenicientos, Sevilla la Nueva, or Navas del Rey. Additionally, it will assess the condition of previously executed and subsequently halted works to determine their potential reuse.
The functional analysis will include a review of the Móstoles-El Soto station as a potential intermediate terminus. The ministry has highlighted that this initiative seeks to promote sustainable metropolitan mobility and improve social cohesion through a quality rail system.
