A significant fire erupted this Friday at an appliance recycling plant in Campo Real, affecting an area of 1,000 square meters and prompting an alert for nearby residents.

The Madrid Community Firefighters are working intensely to control a fire that broke out on Bronce Street in the municipality of Campo Real. The blaze, which started at a scrapyard, has affected an appliance recycling plant covering approximately 5,000 square meters.
According to information provided by the 112 of the Community of Madrid at 6:36 AM, nearly 1,000 square meters of the facility are currently burning. A total of 12 fire brigades have been dispatched to the scene to combat the flames and prevent their spread to adjacent areas.

Residents in the area are advised to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed as a precautionary measure.

SUMMA health personnel are on standby in the area, although no injuries or intoxications have been reported so far. Authorities have urged nearby residents to remain in their homes and keep doors and windows shut as a safety precaution.
Furthermore, the 112 has reminded the public to only contact the emergency service in case of a critical situation that requires it.
