The regional government has announced a 58 million euro investment to carry out 42 infrastructure improvement projects across 38 municipalities with populations under 20,000.

The initiative, part of the regional strategy running through 2027, aims to optimize connectivity and road safety in rural areas. Official estimates suggest these works will benefit approximately 250,000 residents by modernizing infrastructure and reducing travel times.
The program includes 18 projects focused on urban access and crossings, alongside the construction and rehabilitation of bike lanes. Additionally, accessibility improvements will be implemented in various towns, complemented by the construction of new intersections and pavement renewal on specific road sections.

"It is not just a matter of good public management, but also a commitment to cohesion, territorial rebalancing, and equal opportunities for all residents of Madrid."

Miguel Ángel García Martín · Minister of Presidency, Justice and Local Administration
The projects, managed by the public company Planifica Madrid, are scheduled to begin in the final quarter of this year. Work is expected to continue throughout 2027 where necessary.
