The regional investment targeted El Boalo, Cercedilla, Estremera, Hoyo de Manzanares, Lozoya, Villalbilla, Ambite, Villamanta, Sevilla la Nueva, and Torrejón de Velasco. The work included pavement renewal, lighting improvements, creation of green spaces, installation of urban furniture, and adaptation of children's areas.
The Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, highlighted that these actions reflect the Community's commitment to its towns and the quality of life for residents, contributing to the local economy and tourism promotion.
In El Boalo, over 110,000 euros were allocated to the Plaza de la Constitución, including ornamental lighting, furniture replacement, and expansion of the children's area. Cercedilla received more than 235,000 euros for the connection between Pontezuela street and the Plaza Mayor, featuring asphalt improvements, underground cabling, and energy-efficient lighting.
Estremera's Plaza Juan Carlos I underwent a comprehensive remodel with a 200,000 euro investment, renewing pavement, creating garden areas, and improving underground infrastructure. In Sevilla la Nueva, 300,000 euros were invested in rehabilitating the Plaza de España, including facade reforms, new street furniture, vegetation, and undergrounding of electrical and telephone networks.
Hoyo de Manzanares received nearly 300,000 euros for the rehabilitation of its Plaza Mayor and adjacent municipal buildings, with restoration work on arcades and pavement remodeling. Villalbilla allocated over 230,000 euros to improve the Plaza Mayor and the Fuente de la Plazuela, installing LED lighting and photocatalytic materials.
In Lozoya, almost 100,000 euros were used to renovate San Vicente and Salvador streets to enhance pedestrian accessibility. Ambite invested over 230,000 euros in beautifying its Plaza Mayor with stone and wrought iron finishes.
Villamanta remodeled the Plaza Juan Carlos I for 200,000 euros, creating green spaces, improving lighting, and installing sail awnings for shade. Lastly, in Torrejón de Velasco, over 160,000 euros transformed the Plaza de España's children's park with new play elements and enhanced safety.
These actions are part of the Community of Madrid's Beautification Plan, within the 'Pueblos con Vida' program, aiming to improve public spaces, revitalize urban and rural centers, promote local tourism, and foster economic and social development.
