Over 400 personnel worked throughout the night to contain the flames, focusing efforts on the area around the Cofio River. The firefighting team successfully prevented the fire from reaching Valdemaqueda, a town that had been previously evacuated along with other nearby locations.
The situation remains critical due to forecasts of rising temperatures and a shift in wind direction this Tuesday. According to the 112 emergency service of the Community of Madrid, 50 ground units remain deployed to monitor the perimeter and prevent potential flare-ups.
Regional mobility has been severely impacted, with 13 roads experiencing total closures or traffic restrictions. Affected routes include sections of the M-501, M-507, M-512, and M-521, hindering travel around towns such as Robledo de Chavela, San Martín de Valdeiglesias, and Villa del Prado.
