The measure affects a population of approximately 1,500 people in this Madrid municipality, located near the provincial border with Ávila. The activation of the protocol aims to ensure the safety of residents in light of the fire's progression.
The emergency response has also issued warnings for other nearby towns. A lockdown has been ordered for Las Navas del Marqués, in the province of Ávila, and the existing evacuation order for the Madrid town of Zarzalejo has been reiterated. Additionally, Valdemaqueda received a similar alert this Monday.
Authorities have noted that the fire has impacted several regions, including Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha. According to provisional estimates, the affected area covers approximately 25,000 hectares in the Community of Madrid and around 50,000 in the province of Ávila, figures that will be finalized once the emergency concludes.
