The operations carried out by the Firefighters during the early hours have stabilized critical points of the front, especially in the vicinity of the San Juan Reservoir. This deployment has been described as a fundamental step to prevent further spread of the fire towards populated areas.
Despite the progress, authorities remain cautious regarding the weather changes expected for this Tuesday. Rising temperatures and wind gusts are forecast to complicate extinction efforts starting at 1:00 PM, ahead of a new heatwave.
Currently, aerial assets are working to consolidate the terrain and secure the established containment lines. At this time, residents are not yet permitted to return to the evacuated towns, including Valdemaqueda, as the fire remains active and uncontrolled in the northern sector.
