The Sierra Norte Regional Humanities Center in La Cabrera presents a diverse cultural agenda for late April, including film screenings, theatrical performances, and art exhibitions.

Among the highlighted proposals is the screening of the documentary La Hija del Volcán, a Spanish production from 2024 directed by Jenifer de la Rosa Martín. The film, 104 minutes long and not recommended for children under 7 years, tells the story of a survivor of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano eruption in Colombia in 1985, who at thirty years old embarks on a journey to find her roots. The screening will take place on Friday, April 24 at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium, and will include a presentation and discussion with the director herself.
On Saturday, April 25, the Auditorium will host at 8:00 PM the theater and lyrical poetry play Me trataste con olvido, by the company La otra Arcadia. This show, lasting 65 minutes and recommended for adult audiences, is a vindication of forgotten female authors from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The dramaturgy is by Raúl Losánez and the stage direction by Ana Contreras.
The program is complemented by a family workshop on collage film animation, titled Cine de tijeras, taught by visual artist Bárbara Perdiguera on Saturday, April 25 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Additionally, the exhibition Arte Intruso: canto de sirenas, by the collective Art4Now (comprising poet Vera Moreno and visual artist Artusnow), will be open to the public from April 22 to May 24. This multidisciplinary exhibition combines digital photography and poetry to explore a dreamlike marine world.
Finally, the Humanities Center also hosts the exhibition El Museo del Cancionero, a collaborative project by the Casa de Niños de Valdemanco and 18 other educational centers in the Sierra Norte of Madrid. This exhibition, which combines education, creativity, and art through works inspired by songs, can be visited from April 10 to 26, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM from Tuesday to Saturday, and on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
