A middle-aged cyclist sustained very serious injuries this Saturday after falling in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, and was airlifted to Puerta de Hierro Hospital with a severe head trauma.

The incident occurred around 6:20 PM on Cañada Nueva street, 9, in the Madrid town. The exact causes of the accident are still under investigation.
Emergency services from the 112 of the Community of Madrid reported that upon arrival, the man was unconscious. He presented a severe head injury, prompting an urgent intervention.
The SUMMA medical team stabilized the injured man at the scene before proceeding with his evacuation. Due to the severity of his injuries, an airlift to Puerta de Hierro Hospital was necessary, where he was admitted in a very serious condition.
