The municipal decision, implemented a few months ago without prior notice or neighborhood consultation, has significantly affected the inhabitants of Reventón Street. Initially, residents believed the works were intended to repair a sidewalk made impassable by tree roots.
However, they were greatly surprised to find that the sidewalk was completely removed, and yellow lines were painted, prohibiting parking throughout the street, even in front of their own homes. This measure has been perceived as discriminatory by those affected.
Our surprise was immense when we saw that the entire sidewalk was eliminated and a yellow line was painted, preventing parking. Not content with that, they also painted a yellow line in front of our houses, which discriminates against us compared to other neighbors, preventing us from parking on the entire street.
Furthermore, a counter-direction lane has been implemented from chalet number 10 downwards, which, according to residents, makes no traffic sense, as Dos Hermanas Street is one-way.
In response, residents have filed numerous complaints with the Citizen Services and Mobility departments and have requested a meeting with the mayor, without receiving any response. The lack of parking has forced vehicles to park in corners and available spaces, resulting in daily fines from the Municipal Police. The protest will take place at the corner of Reventón Street, next to a roundabout that, according to residents, has eliminated five additional parking spaces.
