Nacho Pontón, owner of Pastelería Pontón, visited the Town Hall of San Lorenzo de El Escorial after being crowned winner of the national competition. The event took place as part of FROMAGO Cheese Experience 2026.
During the meeting, Mayor Carlota López Esteban personally conveyed her congratulations to the pastry chef for this recognition. Pontón, who currently operates two establishments in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, shared details about his participation and the preparation process of the winning cheesecake.
He explained the ingredients, preparation, and resting times used in the recipe that earned him the top prize. A specialized jury evaluated his proposal, which combines different types of cheese, alongside those from other professionals across Spain.
This award represents a new achievement for Pastelería Pontón and for an establishment closely linked to San Lorenzo de El Escorial. The mayor highlighted the projection this recognition brings to local commerce and gastronomy.
