The High Altitude Rescue Group (GERA) assisted a young man and his dog early Saturday morning in the mountains of Becerril de la Sierra, both showing signs of dehydration.

The rescue team had to intervene upon finding the animal tired and its owner struggling to continue. After the assistance, they were given water and brought to safety.
Through their social media channels, the GERA reminded the public of the importance of planning for mountain outings, especially when accompanied by pets. "A mountain trip also requires planning for our pets," they stated.

Madrid Community emergency services reiterate the recommendation to avoid the hottest hours for dog walks and to always carry sufficient water for them.
