Vox councillor in Cercedilla, Enrique Pérez, has reported being assaulted, threatened, and insulted during the municipal plenary session held on April 9, attributing the incident to an "organized movement" from the public.

According to Enrique Pérez, the events unfolded during the plenary session on April 9 at the Cercedilla Town Hall. The Vox councillor claims he was "assaulted, threatened, and insulted" by a group of people present in the audience, who, in his opinion, acted with the backing of Mayor David José Martín, from the Grupo Independiente Cercedilla.
The incident escalated to the point where Pérez had to be escorted by police to his vehicle. He subsequently visited a medical center, where he was issued a sick leave report that he plans to attach to the police complaint he will file.

An organized movement from the public violently stormed the plenary hall with the aim of intimidating and assaulting the councillor.

The origin of the altercation lies in the debate over allegedly illegal constructions at a municipal riding stable. According to Vox, these facilities, which include a restaurant and a dwelling, operate "outside the law" and are linked to relatives and friends of councillors from the ruling team.
The urban planning file in question proposed initiating the legalization of some of these constructions that had received favorable reports from the Community of Madrid. However, it also suggested excluding from the legalization process those buildings with unfavorable reports, among which were the restaurant and dwellings allegedly linked to members of the local Government. Pérez had requested to withdraw the proposal for a review of its legal guarantees.
