The IBI tax rate in San Fernando de Henares will decrease from 0.42% to 0.40%, the legal minimum, thanks to the council's sound financial situation. The debt level has been reduced by 130 points in seven years, from over 185% in 2019 to 52.95% recorded in 2026, a historically significant figure.
This achievement is complemented by a notable increase in municipal revenues, driven by the local government's commitment to the development of industrial parks. The establishment of new companies in the city has generated resources and employment, allowing for the maintenance of public services and social policies despite the reduction in the tax burden for citizens.
Mayor Javier Corpa emphasized that these measures, which will be submitted for approval at the next ordinary plenary session, are the result of years of responsibility and diligent public finance management. "It is an enormous satisfaction to be able to announce these measures, which aim to alleviate the financial burden on residents, support families, and reduce tax pressure, all while maintaining quality public services," he stated.
As a new initiative, a 50% IBI subsidy will be applied to residential property owners who install self-consumption photovoltaic panels, as well as to those who have implemented such systems in the four years prior to the measure's entry into force. "In this way, we continue with our commitment to move towards a more livable and environmentally friendly city," the mayor commented.
The Plan 9 remains in place, allowing the consolidation of bills (IBI, IVTM, Economic Activities, VADO, and Waste) into nine installments with a 5% discount. Applications to join this plan will be accepted until December 31st.
El Reto also continues, offering a 50 euro deduction on the waste tax for using the Mobile Waste Collection Point and the Appliance Collection Service, the largest subsidy applied in the region.
