The Valdemorillo City Council has formally requested a subsidy of 150,000 euros from the Community of Madrid to undertake the redevelopment of the Plaza de la Constitución.

The application was submitted through the General Directorate of Territorial Rebalancing, under the Plan for Cooperation on Municipal Works and Services. The project aims to enhance this emblematic urban center, which houses the City Hall and sees significant foot traffic due to its commercial and leisure offerings.
According to Mayor Santiago Villena, the initiative seeks to "offer better conditions for the enjoyment of this public space." The intervention will include the installation of new urban furniture and the planting of trees to make "strolling and staying there more pleasant."
In other matters, the Local Government Board also noted the awarding of works for the installation of a new air conditioning system in the María Giralt Municipal Building. Additionally, contracts were approved for the management of the summer swimming pool for the 2026 season, including the concession of its bar.
Furthermore, space has been granted to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) at the Senior Center. The association will offer activities and services free of charge on Fridays, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
In a prior extraordinary session, the provisional award of a renting contract was approved to comprehensively renovate the athletics track at the Dehesa de los Godonales Sports Center. The banking entity BBVA will handle this project, with a duration of seven years and an approximate cost of one million euros, and a three-month execution period.
Finally, provisional approval was given to works for the maintenance of green areas and trees on public roads. This contract, valued at approximately 1.4 million euros and with an 8-year duration, has been awarded to APASCOVI Specialized Gardening Center, a foundation that promotes the employability of people with disabilities.
