The town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is set to host its first-ever Book Fair this weekend, on May 16 and 17, at the Plaza de la Constitución.

The event aims to become a key meeting point for readers, authors, and publishing professionals. Throughout both days, attendees will have the opportunity to discover new releases, participate in discussions, and enjoy a program that includes recitals, stage performances, and live music.
Organized by the Asociación Cultural Floridablanca with the support of the San Lorenzo de El Escorial City Council, the fair will feature over 20 exhibitors. Participating entities include various publishers and bookstores offering genres ranging from poetry and crime fiction to essays, comics, and children's literature.
As a special feature for this inaugural edition, the event's mascot, Felipín el lector, will be present to welcome participants and pay tribute to the town's historical heritage and its commitment to reading.
