This initiative is part of the expansion plan for the railway network of the Community of Madrid and aims to extend the C-4b line from Colmenar Viejo to Soto del Real. The new station will be located at the old Manzanares – Soto del Real station, within Line 102 Madrid– Burgos.
The project not only includes the construction of new infrastructure but also the rehabilitation of the historic building of the old Soto del Real station, built in 1955 and declared a Heritage of Cultural Interest. The goal is to transform it into a modern and accessible station while preserving its original design.
The works will involve the restoration of the exterior and interior conditioning of the building, which will house the lobby, ticket sales area, and restrooms. Additionally, a new building for a cafeteria, two small structures for technical facilities, canopies covering 80 meters of the platforms, and a car park with capacity for 513 spaces will be constructed.
The expropriation file affects 26,488 m² of rural land in Soto del Real, with additional easements and temporary occupations. The Resolution of the General Directorate of the Railway Sector has opened the public information period and has summoned affected property owners for the preliminary occupation acts, scheduled for June 2, 2026.
This strategic action is part of the Madrid Commuter Train Plan, which seeks to strengthen sustainable mobility on metropolitan routes. It joins other initiatives such as the duplication of the Pinar de Las Rozas-Las Matas section and the extension to Illescas (Toledo), as well as the promotion of new stations like Tres Cantos Norte and the remodeling of others like Alcalá de Henares.
