Students in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, from 1st year of Early Childhood Education to 6th year of Primary Education, will have the opportunity to participate once again in the 'Patios Abiertos' initiative. This program, set to commence on October 1st, will take place at the Antoniorrobles and San Lorenzo public schools.
The main objective of this initiative is to provide schoolyards as safe, accessible, and meeting spaces for children outside of regular school hours. Driven by the Community of Madrid and co-financed by this entity along with the City Council of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, the program will allow the use of these facilities during the 2026-2027 academic year. The playgrounds will be available from October to May, exclusively on school days, between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM.
During this time, children can freely use the facilities under the supervision of monitors. No directed activities will be organized, as the aim is to provide a space for coexistence and recreation at the end of the school day.
The activity is completely free, and each school will have 40 spots available. Allocation will be based strictly on the order of registration. The deadline for submitting applications is September 22nd. Interested families must send their requests via email to [[email protected]](/cdn-cgi/l/email-protection#c1a4a5b4a2a0a2a8aeaf81a0b8b5aeb2a0afadaeb3a4afbbaeefa4b2). Confirmation of admission will be communicated by email between September 23rd and 28th.
