Redondo, from Tenerife Bike Point-La Sede, completed the 93-kilometer route in 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 24 seconds. The race was decided in the final stages, where a breakaway with under-23 rider Víctor García (El Bicho-Plataforma Central) proved key. García finished second and secured the regional title in his category.
The overall podium was completed by Mario Anguela, also an under-23 rider and teammate of García. After the race, Redondo described it as 'calm until the climb of El Almojón,' where he and García 'tried to increase the pace to select the group.' The winner recounted how they crested the climb alone and battled for victory in the final two kilometers, culminating in a successful attack by Redondo.
The competition, which also hosted the Championship of the Community of Madrid, brought together 110 cyclists from the under-23, elite, and master categories. The start was given at 5:30 PM, with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, and featured the initial flag-off by former professional cyclist Jesús Cruz Martín.
The first breakaway attempts came from Rafael Sirviente (CST-X-Sauce) and Alejandro Rodríguez (EnBici Grupo Salvaje), who were later joined by Luis Adriano Mansilla (Tres Cantos CC). This initial breakaway managed to gain a maximum advantage of one and a half minutes but was neutralized at kilometer 32.
The race's resolution was concentrated on the ascents of Cruz Verde and, notably, El Almojón. It was on this latter climb that Redondo and García managed to open a decisive gap, consolidating a lead of nearly a minute over the main group. Both collaborated at the front until Redondo launched his final attack in the closing kilometers.
In addition to Redondo's elite title, the Madrid Championship crowned Víctor García as the under-23 champion. In the master categories, the winners were José Miguel Fernández (GSport Corpimed) in master-30, Jesús Nieto (Getafe CC) in master-40, José Vicente Gisbert in master-50, and José Joaquín Gambín (PC Paloma-Ayto Fuenlabrada) in master-60.
In terms of teams, the victory went to El Bicho-Plataforma Central, followed by Tenerife Bike Point-La Sede and El Anciano Rey de los Vinos. Víctor García also received recognition as the most combative rider.
The award ceremony for jerseys and trophies was attended by representatives from the El Escorial City Council, the Madrid Cycling Federation, and the Club Ciclista Escurialense, the event's organizer.
