The Torrelodones City Council has announced a package of measures to reactivate commercial and hospitality activity in La Colonia, including a new monthly market and an Oktoberfest.

The Local Development Department of Torrelodones will implement various actions to revitalize the commercial and hospitality sector of La Colonia. These measures were presented by councilwoman Marta López during the municipal plenary session in September.
One of the main novelties will be “La Quedada”, an open-air market to be held on the first Saturday of each month on Jesusa Lara street. This space will offer clothing, gastronomic products, and crafts, and will include a childcare service to facilitate parents' shopping.
Additionally, the Rastro de Torre (flea market) has recently been moved to Pradogrande Park, aiming to increase its visibility and attendance. The upcoming events calendar includes the traditional Domingo de Perros (Dog Sunday) on October 4th.
At the end of October, the hospitality businesses of La Colonia, with the support of the Local Development Department, will organize an Oktoberfest to highlight the local gastronomic offerings.
Once the works on Jesusa Lara street are completed, an inauguration event is planned to revitalize the commercial and hospitality area after the construction period.
Councilwoman López also reported that ESIC Business & Marketing School will conduct a “Global Diagnosis of Small Retail Trade in Madrid 2026” for 24 businesses in Torrelodones, an initiative funded by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Employment of the Community of Madrid.
These actions reflect the Local Development Department's commitment to the commercial fabric of La Colonia, with an event agenda planned throughout the autumn.
