The competition, organized by the Torrelodones City Council, Casino Gran Madrid, and don Rafael Botí, is open to all individuals over 18 years of age.
Registration will take place on the day of the event, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, at the Casa de Cultura (House of Culture). Supports will be stamped there before artists set up in their chosen locations to begin their work.
The artworks, which must be at least 50x70 centimeters in size, can be of free technique and style, but the theme must focus on Torrelodones and its surroundings. Participants are asked to use appropriate materials for waste collection and disposal at clean points.
The submission of artworks will be at 6:00 PM at the Casa de Cultura, and the jury will announce the winners based on their deliberation on the same day.
“"The first prize is endowed by the Torrelodones City Council with 3,500 euros."
The competition includes three main prizes: the first, awarded by the Torrelodones City Council, is worth 3,500 euros. The second, Casino Gran Madrid Prize, is 2,000 euros, and the third, Rafael Botí Prize, is 1,000 euros. Additionally, five honorable mentions will be awarded.
The selected works will be part of an exhibition that can be visited at the Casa de Cultura Paco de Lucía in Torrelodones from July 13th to September 15th.
Rafael Botí, the artist for whom the competition is named, was born in Córdoba in 1900 and passed away in Madrid in 1995. His work was characterized by a significant predilection for landscapes, both of small urban spaces and tranquil city scenes.
