Torrelodones prepares for a summer of celebrations with two distinct festival programs: the Colonia will honor the Virgen del Carmen from July 15th to 18th, and the Pueblo will celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady and San Roque from August 12th to 15th.

Mayor Almudena Negro and Festejos Councilor Sagrario Cillero have presented a dual program aiming to be "intergenerational" and combine "tradition and avant-garde." Music will be a central theme, with concerts, tributes, DJs, and orchestras, alongside sports and leisure activities for all audiences. The festivals reflect the "identity of a town, its values, its tradition, and its history," according to the mayor.
The participation of local peñas (groups), La Cucuña and the newly added La Escombrera, has been highlighted for their selfless collaboration and proposals, such as the foosball tournament. Appreciation was also extended to councilors, associations, sports clubs, municipal workers, and law enforcement agencies for their support.
The celebrations will be inclusive, featuring special hours and quiet periods for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and will include a "Children's Day." Campaigns to prevent online harassment ("Salte del grupo") and to prevent drink spiking ("Mi copa no se toca") will be implemented, along with Violet Points managed by the THAM Mancomunidad.
A special security deployment is planned, with reinforcements from the Guardia Civil and local Police, supported by private security and drones to monitor the fairgrounds. Councilor Sagrario Cillero emphasized that the festival's closing time of 4 AM is crucial for preventing issues, and noted the influx of visitors from outside the municipality.
The festivals of the Virgen del Carmen in the Colonia (July 15-18) will kick off with a performance by ToRocklodones and the opening speech by neuroscientist Nazareth Castellanos. They will include tribute concerts, David Civera, and the revival of the popular Milla urbana (urban mile race). Religious events like mass and procession are also scheduled.
The festivals in the Pueblo (August 12-15), honoring the Assumption of Our Lady and San Roque, will begin with an opening speech by the group Los Porfolios. Highlights include the Baile del Farolillo (lantern dance), performances by artists like Modestia Aparte, and the DJ contest. The seniors' dinner will continue, and a procession will take place.
The detailed program for both festivals will be distributed to households and businesses in the municipality. Attractions at the fairgrounds in the Colonia (Jesusa Lara street) and the Pueblo (Real street) will offer a 50% "Children's Day" discount on July 14th and 19th, and August 11th and 16th, respectively. Attractions will operate without music from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for children with ASD.
