This weekend, Hoyo de Manzanares is mobilizing with three charity events to raise funds for research into GNB1 encephalopathy, an ultra-rare genetic neurodevelopmental disorder.

The GNB1 Association, comprised of patients, families, and specialists, has organized these activities in collaboration with Vall d'Hebron Hospital. The primary goal is to fund studies seeking an effective treatment for this condition.
The initiatives will begin on Friday, April 24, with a tribute concert to The Beatles at the Las Cigüeñas Municipal Theater. Bands Sargento Tripper and Ham Session will perform the hits of the Liverpool quartet starting at 8:30 PM. Tickets cost 10 euros, and a 'Fila Cero' option is also available for those who wish to contribute without attending.
On Sunday, April 26, as part of the Book Fair, an inclusive book signing will be held by Sylvie Riesco Bernier. The books will be available throughout the week at the Hoyo Bookstore, and the author will sign them from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the bookstore's stand.
Also on Sunday, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Plaza de Cervantes will host a fabric bookmark workshop, organized in collaboration with Mamafinadesign. The proceeds from this workshop will also be allocated to funding gene therapy studies, supporting the work of the GNB1 Association.
The GNB1 Spain Association brings together families across the country with the mission of offering support to those living with the GNB1 gene mutation, promoting research to improve the quality of life for those affected and advance towards effective solutions.
