Next Saturday, September 12, the Espacio Torrelodones Shopping Center will host the First Chess Day for Inclusion, a friendly event organized by the Torrelodones Chess Club in collaboration with the City Council and the shopping center itself.

The event, which will start at 10:00 AM and run until 2:00 PM, will pit players from ONCE against a team from the Torrelodones Chess Club. Awards will be presented at the end.
The event aims to highlight the courage, perseverance, and merit of visually impaired players, who, according to the Torrelodones Chess Club, require a high level of dedication in their practice. The initiative seeks to raise awareness and promote a more conscious and respectful society towards diversity.
The competition will take place in the central plaza of the Espacio Torrelodones Shopping Center and will consist of two rounds of 30 minutes per player, with a 30-second increment. The event's closing and award ceremony are scheduled for 2:00 PM.
In parallel, registrations for the II Torrelodones Chess Festival, to be held from September 18 to 27 in the Plaza de la Constitución in memory of Ramón Torres Grajales, remain open until next Wednesday, September 16. The rules and registration for the various tournaments are available on the Torrelodones Chess Club website.
