This phase focused on clearing firebreaks located at the municipal interface, the zone separating the urban area from the forest, acting as a priority protection strip. The work covered the perimeter safety strips of developments such as La Berzosa, Las Colinas, La Gargantilla, and El Berzalejo, aiming to safeguard the entire urban environment and reaffirm the commitment to safety and prevention.
Additionally, municipal urban plots have been cleared, including green spaces like Parque José Saramago. For the first time, a comprehensive clearing of Parque de La Cabilda, managed by the Community of Madrid's Environment area, and also Parque del Berzalejo, has been carried out.
In parallel, the council has issued 180 notices to private land owners to comply with current regulations, including obligations set forth in Law 7/1985, the Community of Madrid's Land Law 9/2001, and the Subsidiary Norms of Hoyo de Manzanares. The Local Police are overseeing compliance with these regulations to ensure collective safety.
Municipal maintenance and cleaning teams continue their work within the urban area, clearing sensitive zones and reducing the accumulation of dry vegetation.
“"We continue working to guarantee the safety of our municipality. We remind the public of the importance of acting prudently and respecting current regulations, and we appeal to everyone's collaboration, especially the younger generation who frequent sensitive areas like parks during these times. Together, we can make Hoyo a safer place."
