The Aranjuez City Council will begin repair and asphalting works on Calle Patrimonio Mundial next August 12th, improving the urbanization around the future La Montaña commercial park.

The actions, which will extend until August 28th, are part of a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the developer Alerce Iberian Properties. The objective is to restore full functionality to the existing urbanization and improve the infrastructure in this area of the La Montaña neighborhood.
The project, managed by Alerce, includes comprehensive intervention on road surfaces, sidewalks, bike lanes, and urban infrastructure. Pavement will be repaired and reinforced, and networks for sanitation, water supply, irrigation, and public lighting will be adapted. Signage, urban furniture, and green areas will also be renewed.
Key interventions include the rehabilitation of the final section of Calle Granada and the reconstruction of the pavement on Calle Patrimonio Mundial (uphill direction). A new bike lane and a pedestrian path parallel to the M-305 will also be built, along with improvements to sidewalks and access to the commercial area.
The works, scheduled to coincide with a period of lower traffic, involve signage and barriers, closure of affected lanes, inspection of drains, adaptation of pedestrian crossings, and milling and asphalting of the road surface. After asphalting, the area will remain closed to traffic for at least two days for proper curing due to high temperatures.
A special mobility plan has been coordinated with the Local Police. The two uphill lanes of Calle Patrimonio Mundial will be closed, with traffic diverted via alternative routes, while the downhill lanes will remain open. Informative signage will be installed at the intersections of Avenida Memorial de la Paz de Hiroshima with Calle Córdoba and Calle Médulas.
At the intersection of Calle Toledo and Calle Patrimonio Mundial, an operator will regulate traffic during the milling and asphalting of the roundabout. Additionally, the speed hump initially planned for the service road of the M-305 will be replaced by rubber speed bumps, accompanied by a reduction of the speed limit from 50 to 30 km/h.
These actions will complete the repair of the immediate surroundings of the future commercial park, which will span approximately 50,000 square meters, house between 16 and 18 commercial establishments, offer over 500 parking spaces, new green areas, a bike lane, and a pedestrian path, thereby enhancing mobility, accessibility, and services in this part of the neighborhood.
