This project, coordinated by the nursing team of the Galapagar Health Center, aims to prevent chronic diseases, improve participants' quality of life, and foster socialization, thereby helping to combat unwanted loneliness.
The activity consists of monthly group walks, covering approximately 5 kilometers and lasting about two hours (from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM). Departures will be from the Health Center and are designed for individuals with sufficient functional capacity. Each session will include a brief informative talk on health-related topics, delivered either before or after the walk.
“"The healthcare sector emphasizes the importance of these types of community actions, which not only encourage regular physical exercise but also reinforce the role of Primary Care professionals as key agents in health promotion."
Topics to be covered during the sessions include immunization (scheduled for April 24), smoking (May 29), and prevention against high temperatures (June 19). The initiative is aimed at the adult population, with a maximum of approximately 30 participants per session to ensure safety and proper activity development.
Registrations can be made directly at the Health Center or via email at sanidad@galapagar.es. Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing and footwear, maintain adequate hydration, and use sun protection. The City Council will actively collaborate in disseminating the program, defining routes, and coordinating the necessary organizational aspects.
