This annual event, scheduled for 6:00 PM, aims to highlight the contributions of citizens who have positively influenced community life. The initiative underscores the council's commitment to valuing selfless efforts and improving the quality of life in the municipality.
“"We want to be a grateful Town Council. With these awards, we want to highlight those who have passionately defended our traditions and culture."
Among those honored are three individuals who will receive the Gold Category Title of Merit of the Villa. Additionally, an exemplary municipal worker will be recognized as an Illustrious Son of the Villa posthumously, following a request from local sports clubs after his passing in February.
The selected profiles span various sectors such as education, sports, and culture. One of the awardees has been a pioneer in adult education since 1989, tirelessly working for literacy and social integration of women through sports and culture, and currently presides over the Association for the Elderly.
Another honoree is recognized for their fundamental role in preserving popular traditions and as an active member of a local club. They have promoted significant cultural events and extended their commitment to sports as president of a local club and to historical dissemination. Finally, the current president of the Royal Madrid Football Federation will be distinguished for their support of grassroots football development in Galapagar and for introducing 7-a-side Football in Madrid.
The awarding of these distinctions is based on the Town Council's Protocol Regulations, which establish a duty of gratitude towards those who selflessly contribute to the economic, social, or cultural development of the municipality. The formal ceremony will be attended by members of the Municipal Corporation and will be open to all residents.
